Introduction
Wistia is a video host for companies that want video on their own website. You get an ad-free player, viewer analytics and forms that capture leads inside the video. A free YouTube embed gives you none of those, and it sends viewers off to related videos from other channels. Wistia's pitch is that your video stays on your site and the viewing data goes to your marketing stack.
This review covers Wistia's features and its current pricing as listed on wistia.com/pricing in October 2026. It also draws on independent review data from G2 and Capterra. scored.tools did not test the product hands-on. Feature and pricing claims come from Wistia's own pages unless another source is named.
Our overall score for Wistia is 7.4/10.

Key Features
Ad-free, customizable player
Wistia's main product is the embedded player. It shows no ads and no recommendations from other publishers, and you can match its look to your brand. Free plan videos carry Wistia branding. Removing it requires the Business plan or higher. If you are embedding product demos on a pricing page, this matters more than most of the feature list.
In-video forms and CTAs
Wistia can put calls to action and lead forms inside the player, so a viewer can hand over an email address partway through a video. Per the pricing page, CTAs and forms start on Business. The deeper link to HubSpot, Marketo and Pardot is a different product. Wistia calls it the Automation Suite and puts it in the Business + Signals tier. That tier adds video engagement data on contact records, automated lead scoring, audience segmentation, triggered email nurtures, sales alerts and pipeline attribution. Budget for this before you assume the $79 plan feeds your CRM.
Analytics
The Free plan includes basic analytics. Business adds advanced analytics, heatmaps, A/B testing and CSV export. Heatmaps show which parts of a video people rewatch or skip, which helps you decide where to cut a long demo. A/B testing lets you compare thumbnails or versions on real traffic.
Recording, editing and Wistia Remix
Every plan, Free included, gets a virtual recording studio for screen and camera capture, plus editing. Wistia also offers AI highlights and social clips, which it sells as Wistia Remix: you take one long recording and cut it into shorter pieces. G2 reviewers say the editing is thin, though. If editing is your main job, a dedicated editor like Descript will go further.
Webinars
Wistia lists webinar hosting for live events alongside its on-demand tools. Your webinar recordings, analytics and lead data all sit in the same account as the rest of your video library. The pricing page excerpt we checked doesn't say which tier includes webinars, so confirm that with Wistia before you plan an event program around it.
Dubbing and translation
Wistia says it supports dubbing and translation in more than 50 languages. On Business and Business + Signals, dubbing and AI audio descriptions are a paid add-on. They are included on Enterprise.
Public API
Wistia publishes a documented API and developer docs for building custom video experiences. That is useful if you want to generate embeds programmatically, sync media into your own CMS, or pull stats into a data warehouse.
Pricing Breakdown
These are the prices on wistia.com/pricing as of October 2026. Wistia changes plan names and prices from time to time, so check the page before you buy.
| Plan | Price | Users | Storage | Bandwidth |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 1 | 25 GB max | 200 GB |
| Business | $79/mo billed annually | 3 included, extra users $25 each | 250 GB+ | 1 TB |
| Business + Signals | $329/mo billed annually | 3 included, extra users $25 each | 250 GB+ | 1 TB |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | From 1 TB | 2 TB |
A few details stand out. The page has a monthly/annual toggle that advertises 20% savings for annual billing, but it only shows annual prices for the paid plans. Storage above your allowance is billed as usage or can be prepaid, according to the FAQ. G2 reviewers name storage overage charges as a complaint, so estimate your library size before you commit. Bandwidth overage rates aren't listed on the page.
Business and Business + Signals both come with a free trial and need no credit card. The page doesn't state the trial length. You can cancel any time, except on Enterprise or under a signed order form, and cancellations are not refunded.
The jump from $79 to $329 a month is where you need to decide. The marketing automation features (CRM sync, lead scoring, triggered nurtures) are a large part of Wistia's appeal to B2B teams, and all of them sit in the higher tier. Business gets you a clean, branded player with forms and good analytics. Signals is the tier that turns video engagement into data your sales team can act on. Enterprise adds SSO, team accounts, playback protection and a dedicated customer success manager.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Ad-free, customizable player that suits brand-focused sites.
- Lead forms and CRM integrations (HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot) tie video views to the sales pipeline.
- Hosting, recording, editing and webinars all live in one product.
- The Free plan includes recording, editing and AI clips, so you can judge the workflow before paying.
- A public API and developer docs support custom builds.
- Strong independent ratings: G2 4.6/5 from about 1,140 reviews, Capterra 4.7 from 172.
Cons
- The Free plan is thin for teams. You get one user and 25 GB of storage, and Wistia branding stays on.
- CRM automation needs Business + Signals at $329/mo billed annually, more than four times the Business price.
- Paid tiers cost more than general-purpose hosts like YouTube or Vimeo.
- Storage overages add to the bill, and reviewers say so.
- Editing is reported as basic compared with dedicated editors.
- The product is built for business marketing teams, so it's a poor fit for hobby or casual use.
Who Is It For
Wistia fits B2B marketing teams that publish product demos, explainers, customer stories and webinars on their own site, and that want to know who watched. If your team runs HubSpot or Marketo and wants video views to drive lead scores and sales alerts, Wistia has built its higher tier for exactly that. Make sure the $329 tier fits your budget before you start.
A small company that needs a clean player without YouTube's ads and recommendations can stop at Business. At $79 a month you get branding removal, forms, heatmaps and A/B tests, which is enough for a SaaS marketing site with a few dozen videos.
Wistia is the wrong tool if you mainly record quick async updates for colleagues. Loom is built for that. For podcast-grade remote interviews, Riverside records higher-quality local tracks. Creators chasing reach should stay on YouTube, because Wistia does nothing for discovery.
Verdict
Wistia scores 7.4/10. It is a capable business video host with a clean player, solid analytics, a documented API and an all-in-one set of recording, webinar and editing tools. Reviews on G2 and Capterra rate it well. The weak points are cost and packaging. The CRM features that set it apart from Vimeo cost $329 a month, storage overages add up, and the editing tools are basic.
Our recommendation: if you are a marketing team putting video on your own site and you care about viewer data, start the no-card Business trial and confirm webinar access and storage needs before you commit annually. Move up to Business + Signals only if CRM-linked lead scoring will actually change how your sales team works. For recording-only needs, look at Loom or Riverside first.
