The companies that handle data for us
- Netlify hosts the website and keeps standard server logs (IP address, page, browser).
- Cloudflare runs our database and the small server that handles newsletter sign-ups, checkout, vendor claims and site search. Cloudflare also measures page load speed for us without cookies.
- Google provides Google Analytics (see below) and our email (Gmail), which stores mail in the United States.
- Stripe takes card payments. We never see or store your card number.
We never sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else.
If you subscribe to the newsletter
We store your email address, when you signed up and when you confirmed, in our database on Cloudflare. We send the confirmation email and the weekly issue from [email protected] through Gmail. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. After you unsubscribe we keep only a note that the address unsubscribed, so we never email it again by mistake.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits: which pages are read, roughly where from (country or city level), and the type of device and browser. It uses cookies and Google processes the data, including your IP address. We do not use advertising cookies.
If you are in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, analytics cookies stay off until you accept them in the banner at the bottom of the page. Elsewhere they are on by default. You can change your choice at any time:
When you search, the words you type are sent to Google's search service to find matching pages, with nothing that identifies you. Cloudflare's speed measurement sets no cookies.
If you buy something from us
Stripe collects your payment details and your email address on its own checkout page, under Stripe's privacy policy. Stripe passes us your email, name, the product, the amount and anything you type into the checkout form (such as your tool's URL or the line for a Category Slot). We store that order record in our database on Cloudflare and use it to deliver the order, send receipts and updates by email, handle refunds and keep the public ledger, which shows the company name and amount paid but never an email address. We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Affiliate links
When you click an affiliate link, the destination site may set cookies to track the referral. That is governed by the destination site's own privacy policy.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or object to how we use it, by emailing [email protected]. If you are in the UK or EU you can also complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO). Our legal bases under UK and EU GDPR are your consent (newsletter, analytics cookies), our contract with you (orders) and our legitimate interests (keeping reviews accurate, security and server logs).
If we emailed you about a review of your tool
This section is for companies whose AI tool we reviewed. It covers the business email address we used to tell you about the review.

What we hold and where it came from. A role address your company publishes on its own website (such as hello@, press@ or partnerships@), the page we found it on, and the name and review of your tool. We find these on your contact, press or about pages, your site footer, or your security.txt file. We do not use personal addresses, bought lists or contact forms.
Why. To tell you we reviewed your tool, to let you correct a fact or claim the page and add a response, and, for some vendors, one short note about the paid options vendors can buy. Paid options never change a score. We send at most three emails unless you claim your page or write back. Our legal basis is legitimate interests (UK and EU GDPR Article 6(1)(f)): keeping published reviews accurate and telling a business about a review of its own product. We do not email vendors based in Germany or Austria.
If you claim your page. We store the email you claim with, the tool, how you proved you run it (your email domain, a DNS record or a file on your site) and when, plus anything you submit from your dashboard (fact confirmations, corrections, your response). Our database runs on Cloudflare. The email address is never published; your response is, labelled as yours.
Who else sees it. Our email provider, Google, which stores mail in the United States. Nobody else, and we never sell it.
How long we keep it. Up to 24 months after our last email to you. If you ask us to stop, we keep only the address on a do-not-contact list, so that we never write to it again.
Your rights. You can object at any time, and we will stop: reply "no thanks" to any of our emails, or write to[email protected]. You can also ask to see, correct or delete what we hold, and you can complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
