Fireflies Review 2026: Pricing, Features and Real Limits

Fireflies offers unlimited free transcription and cheap paid seats. Speaker labels in crowded calls and summaries of casual chats are its weak spots.

Introduction

Fireflies is a meeting recorder. It joins your calls, transcribes them, writes summaries and keeps an archive you can search later. That pitch is crowded in 2026, so the useful questions are what the tool costs per seat and where its output falls short.

We score Fireflies 7.6 out of 10. It does well on ease of use and price. It loses points on output quality, because users report speaker labelling errors when people talk over each other and summaries that wander on informal calls. User reviews are strong overall, with a 4.7/5 average from 749 reviews on G2 and 4.9/5 from 735 reviews on Capterra.

This review draws on Fireflies' own pricing, product and API pages, plus public user reviews on G2. We have not tested it hands-on, so claims about output quality below come from those user reports.

Key Features

Transcription in 100+ languages

Fireflies says it transcribes in more than 100 languages and detects the spoken language automatically. That matters for teams with international calls, since you don't have to set the language before each meeting. The free plan includes unlimited transcription, which is the headline reason most people sign up.

Speaker recognition

The tool labels who said what, in live meetings and in uploaded audio files. This is also where the most consistent complaint shows up. G2 reviewers report speaker labelling errors when speech overlaps. If your meetings are orderly one-person-at-a-time calls, this may never bite. If you run lively standups or sales calls with people cutting in, expect to fix attributions by hand.

AskFred

AskFred is the built-in assistant. You ask it questions across your meeting history, such as what a client said about pricing last month, and it answers from your transcripts. Its usefulness depends on how much history you keep, which ties back to the storage limits on each plan (more on that below).

Meeting app coverage

Fireflies works with Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. It also ships a Chrome extension plus mobile and desktop apps, so you can record calls that don't happen inside one of the big three. Broad coverage is a big part of why we score it 9/10 on ease of use.

API

Per the API docs, developers can upload audio, pull transcripts, work with keywords and manage users. That covers the common builder cases, such as pushing transcripts into an internal tool or a data warehouse. The integration list is thinner. The tool data shows dialer integrations such as Aircall and RingCentral, with few others listed, and the pricing page groups app and CRM integrations under paid tiers. Check that your specific CRM or project tool is supported before you buy.

Pricing Breakdown

Prices below are per seat, per month, billed annually, from the tool data drawn from the Fireflies pricing page. Confirm current figures on the vendor's site before you commit, as plan details change.

PlanPriceWhat you get
Free$0/monthUnlimited transcription, limited AI summaries, 400 mins storage per team
Pro$10/seat/month (annual)Unlimited AI summaries, 8,000 mins storage per seat, video recording
Business$19/seat/month (annual)Unlimited storage, conversation intelligence, team analytics
Enterprise$39/seat/month (annual only)SSO and SCIM, HIPAA compliance, audit logs, dedicated account manager

What the tiers mean in practice

The free plan is generous on transcription and stingy on storage. 400 minutes per team is under seven hours of recordings shared across everyone, so a team of any size will fill it within days. Treat Free as a trial for one person.

Pro at $10 per seat is the realistic starting point. 8,000 minutes per seat works out to roughly 133 hours, which covers most individual workloads, and you get unlimited summaries plus video recording.

Business at $19 per seat removes the storage cap and adds conversation intelligence and team analytics. If you want AskFred to search a long history, unlimited storage is the reason to step up. Enterprise at $39 is for regulated or larger organisations that need SSO, SCIM, audit logs or HIPAA compliance. If you handle health data, Enterprise is the only tier in the table that lists HIPAA.

On price alone, Fireflies sits at or below most rivals per seat. We score it 8/10 for pricing value.

Who Is It For

Fireflies suits small and mid-sized teams that want searchable meeting notes without a big bill. If your calls spread across several platforms, the broad app support saves you from running two recorders. Sales teams already on Aircall or RingCentral get a direct fit with the dialer integrations.

Developers building internal tooling on top of meeting data will find the API covers the basics. If you need raw speech-to-text inside your own product rather than a meeting assistant, a transcription API such as Deepgram is the more direct match. If your priority is recording high-quality audio and video for podcasts or interviews, Riverside.fm targets that job instead.

Be cautious if your meetings are crowded and fast, or if you depend on precise speaker attribution for compliance, coaching or legal records. The user reports on overlapping speech point straight at that use case.

Verdict

Fireflies is a good buy for teams that want cheap, easy meeting notes across Zoom, Meet and Teams. Start on the free plan and run it on a few of your real meetings, especially the messiest ones, then check the speaker labels and summaries yourself. If they hold up, Pro at $10 per seat is the sensible default, and Business at $19 makes sense once you want unlimited history for AskFred. If attribution errors in busy calls would cause real problems for you, test hard before you commit to an annual plan.

Our rating: 7.6/10. Ease of use and price are its strengths, and output quality on difficult calls is where it falls short. You can try it at Fireflies.
